Job Title: Library Intern Organization: United Nations (UN) Location: Arusha Duration: 3-6 months

The United Nations is seeking a passionate and motivated Library Intern to join our dynamic team. As a Library Intern, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the vital mission of the United Nations by supporting our library services and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate program in library and information science, archival studies, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in international relations, diplomacy, and global issues.
  • Familiarity with library cataloging systems, metadata standards, and information retrieval tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in research methodologies and database searching techniques.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of other official UN languages is an asset.
