When the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max debut, likely in September, don’t expect a radical redesign. However, a recent leak hints at a subtle tweak in the design of the rear camera housing.

Renowned leaker @UniverseIce shared a schematic drawing indicating a “raised height of 3.9mm” for the camera unit. Though it’s unclear how this compares to previous models, it suggests a potentially larger camera bump.

This adjustment could mean the new phones sit at a slightly steeper angle when placed face up on a surface. While the difference may not be noticeable at first glance, it could accommodate more advanced camera technology.

Rumors suggest improvements for both the main and ultra-wide cameras, with the latter possibly upgrading from 12MP to 48MP. Alongside the standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, these models are anticipated to debut in September.

Additionally, the screen size of the iPhone 16 Pro Max might increase to 6.9 inches from the current 6.7 inches. Despite this change, overall smartphone dimensions may remain similar, thanks to the rumored thinnest bezels ever seen on a phone. This innovation could allow for larger displays without increasing the flagship’s physical size.
